These delightful, small Abalone Shells have the tradition iridescent beauty we love them for. Some have more "holes", which are called Respiratory Pores or Selenizone, than others. These holes are necessary to the survival of the animal, allowing water flow for respiration, release of waste and to expel reproductive products. The more holes there are, the older the animal is. Older holes seal themselves and new, larger ones open. Shells will potentially have barnacles and other naturally occurring inclusions on the outside.

Abalone shells have divine energy, and are often used to hold sage while clearing space, which invokes the spirit of the ocean and uses your highest chakras as a conduit to the divine realm.

Personally, I use the Abalone shell during a ritual bath to scoop water over myself, allowing the water to sprinkle through the holes. You might also place them around your home to hold your jewelry or semi-precious stones during charging.
