Charcoal tongs or tweezers aren't completely necessary, but sure do work great for holding your disk while you light it ... unless you're not afraid of the little sparks, that is!

The tongs have a good size relaxed opening of 1.75" and a nice resistance when pressure is applied to hold your disk. The spoon part at the end of each arm is roughly about 5/8", which make them an excellent size to select, hold and light that disk without burning yourself. With them being black stainless steel you won't have to worry about what they look like after holding a few disks.
