Mookaite offers some powerfully attractive colors, often found within the same stone, and often having fossils contained within. This mineral is extremely difficult to mine, as it is only found in Western Australia, deep within decomposed Radiolariam clay, which unfortunately is the floor bedding of a small creek. The mineral often crumbles and is lost during extraction, and every piece has a different chemical make-up, with some containing more Chert than Chalcedony or vise-versa.
